POST-PUBLICATION POLICY
Corrections/Errata
When the correction is published: *
If an error is discovered after publication that does not undermine the main conclusions of the article:
- Typos or grammatical errors
- Errors in data or calculations that do not affect the interpretation
- Omissions in the bibliography or acknowledgments
Procedure:
- The author or editorial staff publishes Correction/Erratum
- The correction is two-way related to the original article
- The original article remains available with a note indicating the correction.
Retraction
Reasons for retraction:
An article may be retracted if:
- Serious errors were found that undermine the main conclusions
- Violation of publication ethics: plagiarism, data fabrication, multiple publication
- Violation of research ethics: lack of ethical approval, violation of participants' rights
Retraction procedure:
- The editorial board conducts an investigation according to COPE standards
- Contact the author(s) for clarification
- If the grounds are confirmed, a Retraction Notice is published:
- Headline: "Retraction: [Article Title]"
- Signed by the author(s) and/or editor
- Explanation of the reasons for retraction
- Original article:
- Remains available, but marked as "RETRACTED"
- Bilaterally associated with retraction
- A retraction warning is displayed when opening
Expression of Concern
If the editorial board has serious concerns about a published article, but the investigation is not yet complete or there is insufficient evidence for a retraction, an Expression of Concern may be published to inform readers.
