Review process
Era and Text: Interdisciplinary Journal uses a rigorous double-blind peer review system.
Review stages:
Stage 1: Initial Editorial Review (1-2 weeks)
The editor-in-chief or a member of the editorial board conducts a preliminary assessment of the manuscript based on:
- Matching the aims and scope of the journal
- Compliance with the author's instructions (format, volume, structure)
- Quality of research and clarity of presentation
- Originality and significance of the contribution
Manuscripts that do not pass the initial assessment are rejected without referral for external review with a detailed explanation of the reasons.
Stage 2: External Review (4-8 weeks)
Manuscripts that pass the initial selection are sent to at least two independent reviewers – recognized experts in the relevant field of research.
Reviewers rate:
- Novelty and originality of the research
- Methodological validity
- Quality of argumentation and analysis
- Compliance with ethical standards
- The structure of the work and compliance with the author's instructions
- The quality of the literature review and the relevance of the sources used

Reviewers provide:

Step 3: Editorial Decision
Based on the reviews, the editor makes one of the following decisions:
- Accepted without changes - the manuscript is ready for publication
- Accepted with minor revisions - minor corrections required; revision period: 2-3 weeks
- Accepted with major revisions (major revisions) - significant changes are needed; revision period: 4-6 weeks; re-review
- Rejected - the manuscript does not meet the journal's criteria or has fundamental flaws
Step 4: Revision and Re-Review
Authors who receive a request for revision must submit:
- Corrected version of the manuscript
- A detailed response letter with step-by-step comments on each reviewer's comment
- Explanations in which cases and why the authors disagree with the reviewers
Revised manuscripts may be sent to the same or new reviewers for evaluation of the changes made.
Time frame:
- Initial assessment: 1-2 weeks
- External review: 4-8 weeks
- Decision after revision: 2-4 weeks
- Total time from submission to first decision: 6-10 weeks
